1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SupportVest (“the Service”), operated by SupportVest, LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SupportVest is a financial education platform that provides:

  • Gamified financial literacy lessons across 10 topics (budgeting, credit, debt, investing, and more)
  • AI-powered coaching through Vestie, our financial learning assistant
  • Portfolio simulation using real market data
  • Personal finance tools (budget tracker, calculators, savings goals, net worth tracking)
  • Optional bank account linking via Plaid for financial data aggregation
  • Competitions, leaderboards, and social learning features

3. Important Disclaimers

Not Financial Advice

SupportVest provides general financial education only. Nothing in the Service constitutes personalized financial advice, investment recommendations, tax advice, insurance guidance, or legal counsel. The Service is not a substitute for professional financial advice. Always consult a qualified financial professional before making financial decisions.

Not a Financial Institution

SupportVest is NOT:

  • A financial institution, bank, credit union, or money transmitter
  • An investment adviser, broker-dealer, or securities exchange
  • An insurance company, agent, or broker
  • A credit bureau or credit reporting agency

Portfolio Simulator

The portfolio simulator uses real market data but trades are entirely simulated with virtual currency. No real money is invested, and simulated results do not predict or guarantee actual investment performance.

VestCoins

VestCoins are a virtual currency used within the Service for gamification purposes only. VestCoins have no real-world cash value and cannot be redeemed, exchanged, or transferred for real currency. We reserve the right to modify VestCoin balances, earning rates, and pricing at any time.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use SupportVest. Users between 13 and 18 should have parental or guardian consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

5. Account Registration

  • You may register using email/password, Apple Sign In, or Google Sign In
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • You must provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

6. Subscription Plans and Payments

Free Tier

SupportVest offers a free tier with limited daily lessons. No payment information is required.

Paid Subscriptions

  • Paid plans (Plus, Pro, Wealth, Family, Dynasty) are billed on a monthly or annual basis
  • Payments are processed through Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe depending on your platform
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription through your platform's subscription management settings

Free Trials

We may offer free trial periods for paid subscriptions. Each user is eligible for one free trial per email address. At the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan unless cancelled.

Refunds

Refund policies are governed by the platform through which you purchased your subscription (Apple, Google, or Stripe). Contact the relevant platform for refund requests.

7. Linked Financial Accounts (Plaid)

If you choose to link a bank account through Plaid, Inc.:

  • You authorize Plaid to access your financial account information on your behalf
  • You may revoke access at any time through the app, which immediately deletes all cached financial data
  • Per CFPB Section 1033, you must reauthorize access every 12 months
  • Your use of Plaid is also subject to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy

8. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person
  • Use the Service to provide financial advice to others or present yourself as a licensed financial professional
  • Manipulate leaderboards, competitions, or VestCoin balances through exploits or cheating

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, lesson content, question banks, the Vestie AI character, and software — are owned by SupportVest, LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on the Service without our express written permission.

10. User-Generated Content

When you upload content to the Service (such as insurance documents or profile information), you retain ownership of that content. You grant SupportVest a limited license to store and display that content solely to provide the Service to you. We will never share your uploaded documents with third parties.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SupportVest, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Financial losses resulting from decisions made based on educational content provided through the Service
  • Loss of data or unauthorized access to your account
  • Inaccuracies in market data displayed in the portfolio simulator
  • Service interruptions or unavailability

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any educational content.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SupportVest, LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

15. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by emailing support@supportvest.com
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or at our discretion with reasonable notice
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • Data deletion upon account termination follows our Privacy Policy

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date and, for significant changes, by providing notice through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

18. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
